The plaintext (English characters) take the place of keys and the ciphertext (Morse code) form the values of the corresponding keys. I'm still developing these tools as technology moves on. I'm not actually a ham-radio enthusiast and don't know Morse code myself but over the years I've had a lot of fun making tools to create and translate Morse. We can save the morse code chart in a dictionary where (key-value pairs) => (English Characters-Morse Code). I wrote the first ever web page documenting Morse Code's dots and dashes back in 1995 or so. Python provides a data structure called dictionary which stores information in the form of key-value pairs which is very convenient for implementing a cipher such as the morse code.

Every character in the English language is substituted by a series of ‘dots’ and ‘dashes’ or sometimes just singular ‘dot’ or ‘dash’ and vice versa. Special thanks to Eric Holk for sharing his JavaScript solution for making the morse code audio by using the WebAudio API.Morse code is a method of transmitting text information as a series of on-off tones, lights, or clicks that can be directly understood by a skilled listener or observer without special equipment. The space between parts of the same letter is one unit.This specifies internationally agreed-upon alphanumeric codes: The modern version of Morse code is known as "International Morse Code". However, Morse code can be used for any language that uses the Latin alphabet - and there are variations which allow for more than 26 characters and 10 numerals. This translator does translate English to Morse code. The electrical telegraph uses pulses of electric current which travel along a wire to a buzzer which beeps and is then interpreted by the trained reciever. Upon the invention of the electrical telegraph, a formal system of communication needed to be developed, and this is where Morse code originated. Many forms of communication similar to morse code were used as the main means of long distance communication well before the invention of the electrical telegraph by Samuel Morse, Joseph Henry, and Alfred Vail. The textual representation of a "dit" is a dot or period, and the representation of a "dah" is a dash or hyphen. When using audio for morse code, the terms "dits" and "dahs" are used to refer to short beeps and long beeps, respectively. The length of the beep or flash determines what type of signal is being transmitted.

It was originally used by emateur radio operators, air traffic controllers, and the military. Morse code is a method of transmitting textual information by using an on/off signal like a flashing light of beeping sound (it is somewhat similar to transfering information in binary). Simple enter words or sentences in the left-hand text box, and your text will be translated into morse code. It also generates audio so you can listen to your sentences in morse code. This translator converts text to Morse Code.
